Easy DIY Terrarium - Bring a little of the outside inside!

This next project comes to us from City of Motherly Love reader, Alison.  It is perfect for those of us who are itching for a little spring.  It's also a low-cost entry to the world of indoor plants and a craft wrapped up into one.

Easy DIY Terrarium How-To

Supplies:
  • Purchase a pretty jar (this one came from Home Goods)
  • A small fern (from Lowe's or Home Depot)
  • Potting Soil
  • Moss

How-To
  • Place potting soil at the bottom of your jar
  • Place a small portion of a fern (with the roots attached) in the potting soil
  • Surround the fern and soil with moss (Alison and her daughter collected moss from around their neighborhood)
  • Spritz the plants with a water bottle
  • Put the lid on the jar
  • Enjoy the new zen-like attitude you will have after gazing up your indoor oasis!
About.com has a GREAT how-to on making and taking care of terrariums, if you want to learn more.

It sounds very easy to do and I would like to try and make one - one day. :-)
Let me how it turns out if it ever moves from the "to try" list to the "tried" list!! I have those lists, too!
